Fully Vaccinated Travelers Are Now Exempt from the BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization

Starting October 1st, Fully Vaccinated travelers are longer required to apply for the BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate. Vaccinated minors (under the age of 18) who are travelling with vaccinated parents or guardians will also be exempted from the BVI gateway portal.


A person is deemed Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19 two weeks after they have received both doses of an approved two-dose vaccine, such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna, and one shot of a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.


Fully Vaccinated Travelers are required to:

  • Provide satisfactory evidence of being fully vaccinated by an approved vaccine according to the World Health Organization

  • Take a Rapid Antigen test or PCR test within 5 days before travel and provide the results of this negative COVID-19 PCR test or antigen rapid test

  • Provide proof of travel insurance which includes coverage for Covid-19 medical costs, medical repatriation, and quarantine accommodation costs

  • Travelers are required to take a rapid antigen test upon arrival for a fee of $50. Everyone, must pre-register for a rapid antigen test via their port of entry.  West End Ferry Terminal – https://westend.bvi.care/  Road Town Ferry Terminal – https://rtferry.bvi.care/ Terrance B. Vaccinated Children (under the age of 18) travelling with Fully Vaccinated parent(s) are required to:

  • Present a negative PCR or antigen rapid test with 5 days before arrival

  • Provide proof of vaccination that is approved by the World Health Organization

Half-Vaccinated Travelers (travelers that have been vaccinated but do not meet the full vaccination standard) are required to:

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Provide satisfactory evidence of being Half-vaccinated

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Must provide proof of travel insurance that includes comprehensive medical coverage

  • Required to http://bvimonitor.info/homequarantine if the expectation is to quarantine in a private residence, hotel or vessel;

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $175/ person fee upon arrival

  • Enter Quarantine for 4 days and on day 4 take the final PCR test, until a negative test result is received (usually 24hrs). Link to obtain approval from the Environmental Health Division http://bvimonitor.info/homequarantine

Unvaccinated Travelers are required to:

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Must provide proof of travel insurance that includes comprehensive medical coverage

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $175/ person fee upon arrival

  • Enter Quarantine for 7 days

A mixed group of Fully vaccinated and Unvaccinated Travelers (not including children) are required to follow Unvaccinated protocols.

A mixed group of Fully vaccinated and Half Vaccinated Travelers (not including children) are required to follow Half Vaccinated protocols.
