The BVI Reduces Quarantine and Covid-19 Testing for Fully Vaccinated Travelers!

As of May 15th, 2021 the BVI is loosening restrictions even further for those who have been fully vaccinated.


A person is deemed Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19 two weeks after they have received both doses of an approved two-dose vaccine, such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna, and one shot of a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.

Effective May 15th 2021


Fully Vaccinated Travelers will be required to:

  • Provide satisfactory evidence of being fully vaccinated

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $105/ person fee upon arrival

  • Enter Quarantine until a negative test result is received (usually 24hrs).

Half-Vaccinated Travelers (travelers that have been vaccinated but do not meet the full vaccination standard) will be required to:

  • Provide satisfactory evidence of being Half-vaccinated

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Must provide proof of travel insurance that includes comprehensive medical coverage

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $175/ person fee upon arrival

  • Enter Quarantine for 4 days and on day 4 take the final PCR test, until a negative test result is received (usually 24hrs).

Unvaccinated Children (ages 5 to 17) traveling with a Fully Vaccinated parent(s) will be required to:

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Must provide proof of travel insurance that includes comprehensive medical coverage

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $175/ person fee upon arrival

  • Remain inside the "family bubble," but not in Quarantine

  • Take a PCR test on day 4

Unvaccinated Travelers will be required to:

  • Take a PCR test within 5 days before travel

  • Apply for a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate 7 days prior to travel and no later than 48 hrs before travel.

  • Must provide proof of travel insurance that includes comprehensive medical coverage

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival (day zero) and pay a $175/ person fee upon arrival

  • Enter Quarantine for 7 days

A mixed group of Fully vaccinated and Unvaccinated Travelers (not including children) will be required to follow Unvaccinated protocols.

A mixed group of Fully vaccinated and Half Vaccinated Travelers (not including children) will be required to follow Half Vaccinated protocols.
