Explore the Exumas on a Yacht Charter in the Bahamas: Nassau – Nassau 7-night Itinerary

Exuma is a district of The Bahamas, which consists of over 365 islands and cays. The largest of these islands is Great Exuma which was founded in 1793, draws in many visitors each year. Day 1: Nassau – Highborne Cay

Distance – 39 Nautical miles

Time – 6.5 hours cruising at 6 knots


Known as the "Gateway to the Exumas", Highborne Cay is a private island, welcoming yachtsman and sailors alike to explore its luxury cottages and world class marina. Within walking distance of the marina, you'll find eight deserted beaches where you can spend the day kayaking or snorkelling. Find a beautiful anchorage then go by dinghy to Allan's Cay where large iguanas roam Leaf Cay beach, which is another superb spot for snorkelling. Head back to Highborne Cay and enjoy a cocktail with dinner from a hill-top with 360-degree views of paradise. You've never seen a Caribbean sunset like this.


Day 2: Highborne Cay – Norman Cay

Distance – 6.9 Nautical miles

Times – 1.5 hours cruising at 6 knots


This must-see location is surrounded by vibrant coral reef and crystal-clear waters, making it the perfect backdrop for a day on the water. Snorkelling some of the many healthy reef systems and occasional aircraft wreckage is just one of the fun filled activities Norman Cay has to offer. Tropical fish and pristine coral will accompany you whilst you are immersed in only 10-feet deep beautiful underwater wonderland.



Day 3: Norman Cay – Staniel Cay

Distance – 40 Nautical Miles

Time – 7 hours cruising at 6 knots


Staniel Cay offers guests a variety of activities from water sports to leisurely walking along charming beaches and harbours. Connecting you with stunning locations like Big Major Cay where you will find the infamous ‘Pig beach’ makes for a perfect afternoon. Day 4: Staniel cay – Warderick Wells Cay

Distance – 19 nautical Miles

Time – 3 hours cruising at 6 knots


Just over half way through your dream charter, Warderick wells Cay gives you the chance to explore the largest underwater sea park the Caribbean has to offer. Home to some of the most treasured snorkelling and diving spots, you can meet and play among sea turtles, vibrant reef and other tropical sea life. Once you have dried off. get some sand between your toes and discover some of the islands 20 secluded beaches, where beach combing and coral searching is a must. End your day enjoying the pristine anchorage Warderick Wells Cay has to offer which is located amongst the highly-protected Exuma Cays land and Sea Park.



Day 5: Warderick Wells cay – Shroud Cay

Distance – 46 Nautical Miles

Time – 7.5 hours cruising at 6 knots


Wake up to the calmness surrounding the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park then continue on sailing until you stumble upon Shroud Cay. This uninhabited and rocky cay will surprise you with its white sand beaches, protected coves and another blissful underwater paradise.  Shroud Cay will give you the opportunity to take your dinghy on excursions through creeks and estuaries, discovering all kinds of tropical species. This location will amaze you with magnificent views and sunsets, allowing you to pretend as if it is your own private island.


Day 6: Shroud Cay – Rose Island

Distance – 9.5 Nautical Miles

Time – 1.5 hours cruising at 6 knots


Located just a short hop from the main port of Nassau, this idyllic journey will allow you to stop at a number of secluded coves and immaculate beaches to ensure you have your complete nature fix before ending your charter.  Rose island delivers a slightly different pace in comparison to the previous locations, with spots like Sandy Toes Beach where you can choose to enjoy a vibrant bar scene or simply relax by the grove of hammocks that line the shore.  Spend your last night reminiscing the weeks adventures and soaking in the north side of the island with a sunset you will never forget. 



Day 7: Shroud Cay - Nassau

Distance – 6.3 nautical Miles

Time – 1 hour cruising at 6 knots


Rise to another stunning morning in The Bahamas before completing your unforgettable charter with a short, smooth sail back into the main port of Nassau.
